This came to me from somewhere, don’t know how much this can be worked out in today’s world but sounded good to me so putting it here.
"Don’t let some one become a priority in your life… when you are just an option for them…."
"Never cry for any relation in life because for the one whom you cry does not deserve your tears and the one who deserves will never let you cry….”
“Treat everyone with politeness even those who are rude to you, not because they are not nice but because you are nice…..”
“Never search your happiness in others which will make you feel alone, rather search it in yourself you will feel happy even if you are left alone….”
“Happiness always looks small when we hold it in our hands. But we learn to share it, we realize how big and precious it is!!!”

The Silver Jubilee
It was mum dad’s 25th wedding anniversary yest and the day was like a havoc at my place. Though mum and dad never wanted to have a party or to have a big function so they decided that they would go ahead with a Satyanarayan Puja at my place.
But before 16th May arrived - the D’ day, past 4 days before it was like a mahabharat at my place, reason the guest list and the menu and the way to deal with the food and fun after the puja. So after all the fighting and argument that they had keeping me as the witness, both of them wanted me to say tht they were right. (Believe me nothing can trouble and irritate u more than ur mum n dad arguing on whose idea is the better one). After all tht I went thru they agreed to my idea to call food from outside from caterers. The fact remains tht they never listen to me but I am always right.
Now the best part of the evening was my mum n dad’s college friends, these four set of couples including my parents who to a certain extend had a filmy kind of love marriage’s and how these people recollected their college days and their hang out areas. Their love stories were worth listening to.
My parents love story (though not different or out of the world from the other 3 couples) the best part I like bout their story is that my dad had told my grandparents that he is getting married in 2 days and you are invited. If you’ll will join me on my wedding I will be really happy. He never asked permission but just informed them.. wow that was good gut’s. Though they had a good wedding with everyone’s presence, my grandfather said they didn’t knew how to arrange things in two days, as in sending invitations to relatives n stuff. But they got married in a very nice way in everyone’s presence.
To this discussion Harish uncle put’s in some uncensored things of the days before my mum n dad got married. The fact that my dad had found a nice house where he would take his newly wedded wife incase if my dada and dadi wouldn’t have agreed. I had to tell dad that he acted in a very smart and witty manner. Woh bhi khus and baki sab bhi khus. After all the leg pulling and jokes and food and good time till 1.00 a.m., my house was in a complete mess. It took me and mum an hr to clear everything before we could hit the bed.
I don’t look up to my mum and dad neither on how they got married nor their marriage, (if given a chance I would like to remove a lotta things in their relationship and add quite a few things to their married life) because I believe that all weddings are similar but all marriage’s are different and special in their own way and have their share of good, bad, happy and sad times. But I am still attracted to the fact that no matter what they did, they never disrespected their elders in anyway.
I was asked by one of the uncle what would I pick from their marriage if I was given a chance – though I don’t feel like picking anything from their marriage but something I have always loved about them is not matter how much ever they argue or have disagreements (they disagree on everything) is tht trust and faith they still have in one another (believe me I have asked them that after so many years of marriage what is that one thing they would want to change in one another, they both said in one rhythm – Nothing, or else they wouldn’t have landed up with one another) and to stand by one another no matter even if me and my sis are on the other side, both of them have stood by each other. I love this quality because at times me and my sis have taken either one’s side but whenever, I really mean it and I am disappointed to say tht when both of them had to chose an idea between the spouse and the kid, they have always taken their spouse’s side even if me or my sis’s idea or the thought was the right one or the better one. HOW MEAN
But it was a nice day, nice moments and lotta fun… three cheers to them and would only pray to god that they have many many more and then we have a chance to celebrate their golden and diamond jubilee. No matter how much u both are troublesome, digusting, irritating and very chalu kinds at times love you tons. muaaahhh

The Pendulum of Thought
The history of human thought recalls the swinging of a pendulum which takes centuries to swing. After a long period of slumber comes a moment of awakening. Then thought frees herself from the chains with which those interested have carefully enwound her.
She shatters the chains. She subjects to severe criticism all that has been taught her, and lays bare the emptiness of the religious, political, legal and social prejudices amid which she has vegetated. She starts research in new paths, enriches our knowledge with new discoveries, and creates new sciences.
But the inveterate enemies of thought – the government, the lawgiver, and the priest – soon recover from their defeat. By degrees they gather together their scattered forces, and remodel their faith and their code if laws to adapt them to the new needs. Then, profiting by the servility of thought and if character, which they themselves have so effectually cultivated, taking advantage of the laziness of some, the greed of others, they creep back to their work by first of all taking possession of childhood through education.
A child’s spirit is weak. It is so easy to coerce it by fear. This they do. They make the child timid, and then they talk to him of the torments of hell. They conjure up before him the sufferings of the condemned, the vengeance of an implacable god. The next minute they will be chattering of the horrors of revolutions to make the child “a friend of order.” The priest accustoms the child to the idea of law, to make it obey better what he calls the “divine law”, and the lawyer prates of divine law, that the civil law may be the better obeyed.
And by that habit of submission, with which we are only too familiar, the thought of the next generation retains this religious twist, which is at once servile and authoritative; for authority and servility walk hand in hand. During these slumberous interludes, morals are rarely discussed. Religious practices and judicial hypocrisy take their place. People do not criticize; they let themselves be drawn by habit, or indifference. They do not put themselves out for or against the established morality. They do their best to make their actions appear to accord with their professions.
All that was good, great, generous or independent in man little by little becomes moss grown; rusts like a disused knife. A lie becomes a virtue, a platitude a duty. To enrich oneself, to seize one’s opportunities, to exhaust one’s intelligence, zeal and energy, no matter how, become the watchwords of the comfortable classes, as well as of the crowd of poor folk whose ideal is to appear bourgeois. Then the degradation of the ruler and of the judge, of the clergy and of the more or less comfortable classes becomes so revolting that the pendulum begins to swing the other way.
Little by little, youth frees itself. It flings overboard its prejudices and its begins to criticize. Thought reawakens.

Today’s thoughts
It was a day filled with some happy moments, some emotional and some moments that just brushed up my head and melted my heart. Sneha’s engagement ceremony was something I was looking forward to and it happened today.
A grand ceremony, in an absolute marwadi style with a good mix of grandeur and style. But something or the fact did not leave my mind was, her parents face with a humble smile, yet a could sense the emotions they were going through with the fact to be prepared to give away their daughter. Sneha’s dad hardly could smile after the engagement while he was greeting people around. Hmmm what to say about sneha, A face filled with joy and content, but yet scared and low. But I am happy for her because she got she was actually looking for. She is a part of a typical marwadi family but yet she was allowed to go to UK to do masters which was so not common within the marwadi community and especially for girls.
She always had somewhere in the back of her mind that she would want to be a part of a family would would accept her wish to let her work after marriage. And now she gonna get married late 2008 so she has enough time for herself and for the new relationship. I really wish all her wishes come true, not because she is a dear friend of mine but she is a genuinely a nice girl. I really don’t appreciate so many girls in my life but she is one in past 5 years with whom I can relate myself and someone who just like me believes in being practical in life.
With this day came to an end with a chat with Kay, which started on a stupid funny talk but ended into something really serious and something I really need to take a call on. Now my head will not come to rest till I come to a conclusion, but as Kay said, this time I need to decide listening to my head and heart, cant allow my head to win over my heart all the time. So I hope I can do that… Life inst bad at all… it’s just a matter of time.

Our Friendship Story!!!
Its about us:
Kay, Niks/Nikki, Tashi/ Tash
Time and Venue:
April 1999 – Bholas classes and its premises
The story so far:
After moving from Vile Parle to Kandivali wasn’t a great feeling, even after almost 15 years I still feel the same. Moving from a joint family with people who loved and pampered you all the time, with family and school friends with whom you had spent most of your time having fun, proximity of juhu beach and gardens around, to a place called Kandivali, a tacky place it was and to a certain extend it still is.
The choice coming to that place was not out of free will but the need, because we needed to move out, along with my dada and dadi even my mum and dad were working, so basically mom being a teacher and my sis being really too young to be left with a maid, it was important that someone could take care of the kids (that’s me and my sis) we had to move to Kandivali, why???? Because my nana and nani were absolutely free with nothing actually to be done in life. So we move to kandivali in a new home which was like 5 mins from my nana and nai’s place. Though I still think it was never a great idea because mum left her job in just 6 months after we moved to this place.
Now why I blabbered so much bout moving out of home. The reason, the lifestyle and crowd in Parle was way different than here. Most importantly the crowd, the people were disgusting. I finally got into a catholic school and the people or the students or class mates were terrible. I studied in a school where it was compulsory to talk in English, people’s outlook of competition was very different. I come here to this school and place which was really diverse in terms of people. Marashtrians, south Indians, catholics and gujrati’s and everyone talking in their owm mother toungue and talking in English was considereda show off, damn… which was different from the older one with a majority of gujrati’s and punjabi’s so the kind of atmosphere in school was also different, the way my mates dealt with things and even the outlook was very different, so I goes without saying that I did not like the new lifestyle.
Now why did I say all this as well, the reason because of those sick people who thought competing was not sharing notes and books, rather than working hard they thought teasing and grouping up was an answer. I gave up to all this and since I had to be with them I chose to be the reserved one. Be with myself in my world and so I never landed up making friends out in this place (I am very selective in this matter) I still don’t have many even today, with just a couple of them I hv started interacting and socializing and its just been a year.
So after all this, I finally reached class ten and since being the board exams that year crucial for taking the career stream everyone took classes & my parents thought that even I should be joining one. I was so not interested in being in Kandivali and refused to join any classes out here. So with some arguments and lil stubbornness and with 3 guys from my school (Amar, Hrishikesh and Kunal) I landed up in parle at bholas traveling from kandivali early morning ( though it became a great gossip in school about this one mad girl thts me going all the way till parle for classes that too with 3 guys), doesn’t matter. And after doing that I felt I got my old life back, and seriously is I did.
Nikita was my batch mate and we started of with a big fight for a corner seat. Heheh haha so funny but finally landed teaming up so that only we both would sit on that seat and mutually decided that alternately we would sit on the corner, and the fun was till the end of the year we never allowed anyone to sit with us. We got along really well, and we did lotta pranks together when our homework used to be incomplete.
Now there was this first Sunday of May when we were suppose to start our weekly tests & our first test was physics, the entire week we dosed off in class, never completed our homework, lotta talks & siting all the time in mc donalds coz it was new to Mumbai.
Now Sunday morning test is at 11. We both were in premises trying to rack our brains on problems of Velocity since 7.00. There was this other guy who also was studying like us sitting on the stairs. He kept observing us & nikki after a while gave up, & when she cant get things she loses her patience & same happened that day. She shouted at me why the hell was I trying to slove those problems because we never paid attention in the class & now to understand & those problems someone had to explain us the theory behind it. & we were scared coz out test reports were posted at our homes & the terror of facing our strict moms was already on our minds. So this guy comes up & offered help if we wanted he could explain. Since he was older to us we were hesitant & we never knew him. So we first spent few mins asking about him wht the hell was he studying for at that hr & we realized that he had take classes on the first floor IIT JEE exam & every Sunday he too had tests. This boy was 3 years elder to us, but we were in a soup & atleast needed to know something so that we could write something in the test. So we took his help & he did a good job. We passed the test & next Sunday again we met & we thanked him. This landed us studying together every sunday every on the stairs of bholas from 7 to 11 & then we used to go & appear for out tests.
Now this was not left on to Sundays but during weekdays and our breaks which happened to be at the same time we used to have snacks together spent more time together. Kay was always tensed because he knew to get thru IIT wasn’t not an easy task. I still remember Nikki couldn’t make it for that Sunday test because she had to go for some wedding & it was just me & Kay & I had biology test. Finally his last test & he was so tensed that he couldn’t recall a simple algebraic expression & I came in as his saviour. We stopped studying & kept on talking, & finally to relieve him I still remem I said “Since I have taught you, you won’t fail & definitely will get thru IIT, I have setting with Sai Baba, I will ask him to help you”
Days passed by, me & Nikki with our routine life & by last week of June Kay got his IIT results & he got thru IIT Mumbai & in electronics & telecommunication, everything he wanted. He was so excited but since we never exchanged our numbers he could call us & inform us. The next day he was waiting for us to tell the news, then he invited us to his place & he thought I deserved a treat coz I was confident that he could get thru. We went to his place & had some good fun.
Then came July, we were at khasiyat sitting & in talks we began to discuss our bday’s, we were planning something so that all three of us can spend the day together which only brought to our realization that we had our bdays in a row on 18, 19 & 20th July, so decided we celebrate it together on 19th July which was my bday. We had a blast & since then these 3 days are like festival for us.
We spent all our free time together, & whenever we need to go home to freshen up it was only Kay’s home we landed coz only he used to stay in parle, coz I was from kandivali & niki from b&ra. So I guess we bonded so well with his family. Then nikki suffered from typhoid later in July & then I was left alone. So it was just me & Kay. Then it was time for rakhi & me & kay ended discussing how I badly needed an elder bro on whom I can throw tantrum, demand things coz elder bros are always sweeter compared to having an elder sis. Since I was the older one I was always on the giving side. With same thoughts Kay was fed up with Shruti di (kay’s elder sis) that always used to keep scolding him & asking him to do things for her. So he felt he should have a younger sis on whom he can boss & bribe her to do things for him. We mutually matched our needs & then decided if we could be tht bro & sis & that rakhi he got a younger sis & I got an elder bro, something we wanted for long. A relationship that is too close to our hearts and only for the day of rakhi, otherwise we are only friends all thru the year.
This new relationship made our bond quite strong & we actually did what we looked for. We still do same things even today – natak, nautanki, bribing, blackmailing, fighting arguing, throwing things on one another. I some how became a part of his family, called his parents sheela mum & dad. I had a new set of parents & since then there was no looking back. We went ahead with time. We 3 shared all our heart felts, sometimes there were fights because Kay always tried to be the older and smarter one as if he knew everything but always lost coz there were 2 girls on the other side. After class 12 Nikki moved to UK with her family. So it was just me n Kay left back. We spend like 2 yrs after Nikki left yet she was always a part of our lives. Then after Kay finished his engineering he decided to move US & now its been 4 yrs he has been there. Even Nikki moved to US 2 yrs back.
In all this 9 years nothing has changed. Even the distance never was a matter. Though Nikki comes down every 2 yrs, Kay comes to Mumbai every year and past 2 yrs almost every eight months. So we see to it that the vacations are planned that all three of us can spend some time together. We have shared our lives. I guess Nikki’s mom & my mom or our families have only heard of us, not even seen our pics or hardly aware of this friendship. It’s only in words for them but it has grown with time.As for Kay & his family, its another home for me just as mine.
3 of us – Kay is style and energy, I am stability and Nikki is the subtleness. We have earned this friendship for ourselves & hope to keep it as fresh as it started. It’s a strange but lovely feeling that has kept us bound to one another despite of so many fights, ups & downs & even the distance. Who say’s long distance relationships are difficult. Look at us we have pulled it off so well, if we can everyone can…
3 cheers for our Friendship & we pray it remains the same till our last breath.

Grandparent’s Affection
There is something really nice to have grandparents around. I was brought with my dada and dadi around and being the eldest in the family I had most of their attention in all respects. Apparently since the day I started with my masters, I really some how strongly felt and now I agree that I missed a lotta things. I was unable to give time to people around me be it mum n dad or the most important my dadu.
As usual whenever I get out for some work I really forget everything unless I am done with it. The same happened today being my cousin’s bday I told dadu that I would join them for lunch. There was not some great lunch prepared but then to I was supposed to have lunch with all of them. I got stuck with work at hospital so badly that I had no track on time. It was only at 1.00 pm when dadu called up I realized that it was so late.
He was so excited to have lunch with me that he had asked my aunt to make mango ras n a few of my favourite things. Everybody finished their lunch but he was still waiting. He is suppose to eat lunch on time because he has to take his medicines and these days he isn’t keeping well. I felt so bad that I couldn’t make it on time and he had to eat lunch alone. He did not even sleep in the afternoon and was waiting for me to reach home.
If that was not enough, when I reached home I was exhausted. And by the time I got fresh he had asked the maid to serve me the plate since no one was there at home. We sat together even he had lil bit to give me company and we had a great conversation. Then we relaxed for a while, had our classic cutting style tea then we headed to the garden where he has this huge group of old grandfathers.
It was so much fun being with these oldies. He introduced me with all. All of them were so happy to see me around. They were the best kids I have ever seen. Each one was trying to pull others leg and like small kids no one left any chance to pull other’s leg.
After a while we headed to the old age home where he has some friends.
Some thing strange was that I had known quite a few of them because they used to visit our place before. They were not staying at the old age home because they had problem at their homes or any financial crisis or anything as such. But they wanted their independence and the urge to be all by themselves. Most of them had their kids in the US.
The only thing I thought they missed was their grandchildren. They were so happy that my dadu is able to spend time with his grandchildren. It was such an emotional moment that it spontaneously prompted me to tell them that even I was like their granddaughter and would definitely come to visit them whenever I am close by or around that place. Only these words brought happiness on their face that was so clearly visible.
It’s not only about having grandparents around but you only realize their importance when you don’t have them around or when you compare your lives with ones who never had a chance to experience that affection. I still remem while I was a kid and we had just moved from a joint family to our nuclear one and my dada and dadi whenever they used to come to my place for a stay over, they used to come after my school to pick me up and brought me things. This was not it but they even used to gift chocolates to my frnds around. So with me even my frnds used to wait when again my dada n dadi were coming back for a stay. It was not about the chocolates but the affection they got from them. Having them around was an absolute different feeling and you get to do all the things generally your parents don’t let you do.
I remember I used to wait for my dadi to come to my place for a stay. A day before she was suppose to come I suddenly use to become the stronger one. Toubled my mum n dad and if they scolded me I used to go mad at them n tried to scare them,” wait let dadi come tomorrow, then you try to scold me in front of her. Then I’ll see who is worng and who is right” hahaha. Beautifu memories to cherish with them and my birthdays were always more than special with them being around.
Today I only think that I learnt a lot form them because they are better ones in guiding kids with what is right and what is wrong. Way patient as compared to the parents and above all nothing can match their affection for you. I only wish that my kids have this wonderful pleasure of having their grandparents around. Its something very different and no other materialistic things and pleasures can take its place.

For Us...
I have been writing a few things on & for everyone but never wrote something on us, though we’ve shared some really nice moments. so it definitely deserves a place in this cyberspace.. coz its where all started.. I took 2 days to write it n completed in ur presence… it just fits in so well… Thts for us KK…. Hehehe hahaha… Muaaahhhh
We blend our thoughts on paper
tho' true we've never met
words are written freely
never with regret
The miles that come between us
may be far and wide
yet we have a friendship
growing deep inside
Cyber hugs and kisses
we share throughout the day
love and understanding
in every single way
I'd really like to meet you
in some secluded place
where we can share those feelings
talking face to face
I hope you're in agreement
would really love a date
across the miles
I'm hoping'n feel it is our fate
We blend our thoughts on paper
tho' true we've never met
words are written freely
never with regret
The miles that come between us
may be far and wide
yet we have a friendship
growing deep inside
Cyber hugs and kisses
we share throughout the day

WORDS WE SAID !!!!
Yes I am a keeper
You gave me things to keep
Thoughts, memories, words
All comfort in my sleep
We both chose those words
Keeper I don’t use lightly
Where do you keep yours
I think about mine nightly
The keeping lasts forever
Forever is what you said
Happy to have them with me
Each time I go to bed
Hope this is not in vain
A keeper I chose to be
Hope you hold the thoughts
I keep those sent to me
Remember what you said
Because I always do
A keeper of fond memories
Should last a lifetime through
You gave me things to keep
Thoughts, memories, words
All comfort in my sleep
We both chose those words
Keeper I don’t use lightly
Where do you keep yours
I think about mine nightly
The keeping lasts forever
Forever is what you said
Happy to have them with me
Each time I go to bed
Hope this is not in vain
A keeper I chose to be
Hope you hold the thoughts
I keep those sent to me
Remember what you said
Because I always do
A keeper of fond memories
Should last a lifetime through
A Hug
A hug is a wonderful gift to share,
A way to show each other that we care;
There is so much a hug is able to do,
When you feel those arms holding you.
A hug is a place to feel safe and warm,
A comfort for a sad heart that is torn;
An expression of the love in our heart,
For ones who we wish, never to be apart.
A hug is a greeting when we meet to say hello,
Or to say goodbye when we have to go;
It can hold us up when life gets us down,
And makes us smile, instead of frown.
A hug can be given for no reason at all,
And given to those, both big and small;
We're never too old to feel the joy it brings,
As it is one of life's most pleasing things.
And for all of this beauty, a hug is free!
It costs nothing, yet means so much to me;
We should all hug another to show we care,
For to feel a warm hug, nothing can compare.
A way to show each other that we care;
There is so much a hug is able to do,
When you feel those arms holding you.
A hug is a place to feel safe and warm,
A comfort for a sad heart that is torn;
An expression of the love in our heart,
For ones who we wish, never to be apart.
A hug is a greeting when we meet to say hello,
Or to say goodbye when we have to go;
It can hold us up when life gets us down,
And makes us smile, instead of frown.

Think Of Those Who Love You.
If someone should hurt you
and say a thing unkind,
Remember what I write to you,
and keep these thoughts in mind.
For everyone that makes you cry,
there are three to make you smile,
And a smile will last for a long,
long time, but a tear just a little while.
Don't let someone who hates the world
cause you to hate it too,
Behind the clouds is a Golden sun,
and a sky that's full of Blue.
If someone said a thing that's cruel,
don't let it get to you,
Your achievements are greatly numbered,
and your faults are very few.
So if a certain person should act a certain way,
Think of those who Love You.
And don't let it spoil your day!
and say a thing unkind,
Remember what I write to you,
and keep these thoughts in mind.
For everyone that makes you cry,
there are three to make you smile,
And a smile will last for a long,

State of Mind . . .
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't!
If you'd like to win, but you think you can't,
It's almost certain you won't..
If you think you'll lose, you're lost;
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will;
It's all in the state of mind..
If you think you're outclassed, you are;
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself
Before you 'll ever win the prize..
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the person who thinks he can . . .
If you think you dare not, you don't!
If you'd like to win, but you think you can't,
It's almost certain you won't..
If you think you'll lose, you're lost;
For out in the world we find

As I Mature
I've learned u cannot make some1 love you.
All u can do is stalk them and hope they panic n give in.
I've learned no matter how much i care,
somepeople are just assholes.
I've learned tht it takes years to build up trust,
and it takes only suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.
I've learned u shud not comapare urself to others -
They are more screwed up than u think.
I've learned tht we are responsible for wht we do,
Unless we r celebrities.
I've learned regardless how hot and steamy a relationship is at first,
and passion fades, and there had better be
a lot of materialistic pleasures to take its place.
I've learned tht 99% of times when somethings isnt working in your house,
one of ur kids did it.
I've learned tht the people u care most about in life,
are taken awaya from u too soon,
and all the less important ones just never go away.
All u can do is stalk them and hope they panic n give in.

Love You in Silence
You came into my life
Quietly, simply, tenderly...
The world stood stillI could not say a word
Nor a single gestured showed.
The feeling kept in my heart
So I've loved you in silence
Worshipped you from a distance
And dreamt of you so often.
I want to say I Love You,
But I'm afraid...Afraid that you'll just take it for granted.
In silence then, I'll just love you.
In silence I'll find...The fulfillment of my dreams.
Quietly, simply, tenderly...
The world stood stillI could not say a word
Nor a single gestured showed.

Terrible 10 Days
Pst 10 days been not so good. Everything was turning on the wrong side with only bad news coming from everywhere.
My Canada visa got delayed for a month coz when I went to the VFS centre I learnt tht I can’t put in my Visa papers for study permit. It can be done only in the 90 day period from the date of commencement of the course. Now all the bank statements which was quite painful work to hv got them done will hv to be made again,a ll afresh. The reason is I hv been quite hyper with my visa stuff coz if thts not happening I need to move ahead with other things.
To add more to the misery I realized tht with the offer from UC Berkeley, behind it my counselor had sent me offer letter from UCLA which I didn’t see. I was so busy with exams n stuff tht I cudnt even speak to my counselor. Now when I go to meet him and he asked me why didn’t I accept the offer from both of them coz by now I wud hv got my i20’s. Its only then I realize tht I had 2 offer letters but I was so disappointed with the program module offered at UC Berkeley tht I didn’t go thru all the papers n wht I had got at UCLA was exactly I was looking for. Now the thing is the deadline is over to accept the offer so makes me left with a feeling OH GOD WHY !!!! I always thought I cudnt get thru UCLA n UC Berkeley and was expecting a rejection from them and having got offers makes me feel in mess cuz I cudnt accept them.. tht was all I wanted all this while….
To add more I was with Momsi (Kay’s mum aka Sheela aunty) and 2 days with her n her senti talks made me feel worse. To add more I met with an accident at churchgate I got 20 stiches, feel like killing tht bastard on the bike or rather ask god if he was planning to call me to meet him. This is the second time in pst 2 months tht I was saved from death’s call. Last time while we were in cab at colaba suddenly the door opened n I was going to fall out of the cab where other cars wud hv passed over me if Janavi wudnt hv had good reflexes and hold my hand n pulled me inside I wud hv been dead, I still get goose bums when I think bout it. Seen death so close !!!
With busy fri n sat at KC with TY practicals exams and working there as an internal biochemistry expert for the uni exams, was completely exhausted. Sunday morning while I was trying to relax with the painful stiches as I cudnt sleep night before I get a call bringing more bad news tht Anish lost his father, almost entire day went with him. With the absolute silence between us, we hv never been so quite whenever we hv met. The fun, pranks n lots of talking, but this was so different. We knew nothing n wht to say n wht cud hv been done. Getting back home from there, I got lost in thoughts, the situation got over me. I really started thinking a few things n they are still on my mind.. don’t know how to get out of it… ewwwwww

Moral Policing for making out in the city..
This summer of love, as Mumbai’s promenades, dwindling parks and gritty beaches are transformed to enchanted Xanadus and young couples whisper sweet nothings in the din of traffic, it will require a great deal of magic to keep those heart-shaped red ballons flying.
For, there is trouble in paradise. Among the complaints about canoodling couples that were scattered in the papers this week, was this particularly strange one. A Bandra woman grumbled tht entwined lovers on the seafront gave voyeuristic – and therefore, perverse – pleasure to men from rural areas, whose partners were in far-off hinterlands. This voyeurism raised a law n order issue, the daily inferred, as the “perverts” passed lewd comments at women.
Protest against street sexual harassment we certainly should, but the not on tht only rural migrants are voyeurs reflects our blinkered – and biased – urban view. It over looks the definition of voyeurism, which states tht ne1 observing, an act without knowledge of the actors is a voyeur. When intimacy is forced into open as it is in our city, isn’t every1 who glances at public displays of affection a voyeur, even without willing it?
I hv seen romance travelled to the shore in search of these brave but vulnerable twosomes, lovers who didn’t hv their private nook. Searching for the flattest rock, the least crowded and least shitty corner of the places like Juhu, Versova, Silver beach and Bandstand. I’ve seen the backs of men n women, huddled on to their interlocked fingers; his arms slung around her neck helped build their cocoon. They hv withstood invading glances, defined tradition and acted ‘improperly’ in public, but only in a neighborhood where no one knew them,
The Thought Police, the Moral Brigade and Neighbourhood Aunty have, in collusion, decided to put a stop to this burgeoning meance. Space is at premium and not to be trifled with by misguiding young couples looking for a bit of nookie. But, its not just space tht lovers want, away from the eyes of magisterial parents and state authorities. Space must also mutate in tandem with the dynamics of love. For those who are fortunate, the move is easy, from Barista to one’s apartment. For those with shallow pockets, this is time of change. The free salt water spray of Marine Drive gives way to the challenges of negotiating with sordid with rat-faced men over a soiled bedsheet, a room with a cracked water jar and a constant dipping into the pockets. Welcome to the world of Madh and Gorai shacks and Hotels called Red Rose.
This is the end of romance for such people. From this moment onwards all space is to be negotiated, fought for and horded. He police books and fine’s the lovers under the sections 110 and 117 of the Bombay Police Act(1951) its tht old n hvnt been revived since then. This ambiguous section dosnt define wht constitutes indecency and is thus open to interpretation. Our men in uniform hv interpreted cuddling – not defecating in public or kissing on celluloid – obscene. They reported lovers “indecent” behaviour to their parents, hoping perhaps, to shame the lovers into hiding.
But despite this moralistic finger-waving, lovers hvnt been deterred from seeking their perfectly paradoxical privacy in public. The raids might hv tried to make the public space heavily controlled, but like hawkers who return after the BMC demolitions their streetside shops, like commuters who got back on the train after 7/11, the lovers are here to stay in their transient asylums of invisibility.
But love like corruption, finds a way. And no matter wht lies at the end of the road, whether marigolds, a hurried sms, or a greasy outstretched palm, one is still reminded of Vyjanthimala and Raj Kapoor in Sangam: ‘”Tere man ki Ganga aur mere man ki jamuna ka bol Radha bol Sangam hoga ki nahi???”
And oh yes ,”hoga hoga HOGA”
Many Times In My Life
God has always been kind to me in his own special way n guided me all this way.... So...
Many times in my life I have disappointed you,
and begun to stray.
But you have pointed me in the right direction,
and sent me on my way.
Many times in my life I've needed a helping hand,
and someone to pull me up.
It was you who gave that helping hand,
and always cheered me up.
Many times I've been sad and down,
and taken it out on you.
But you stood by me and comforted me,
In times that I was bad.
Many times I've needed support,
and to know someone was there.
It was you who held me up,
and showed me how to care.
Many times I've wanted to thank you for this,
But never got a chance.
You have helped me out in life,
and got me where I am.
You were there for me through thick and thin,
You never gave up on me and you taught me how to care.
From the deepest of my heart I want to thank you,
for being there for me in times of good or bad.

Pathetic exam
I guess this is the worst exam i hv ever written. Infact this was for the first time tht i actuallly had studied everything without leaving nething as an option... i thought this time i will definately do well... believe me i never studied so hard n diligently even during my graduating exam but yet i topped. And what was the result of studying so hard where i wonder if i wud score 30 out of 75. Isnt tht pathetic.
But i guess hard work for me is not equal to doing well in papers during exams. So i guess for the remaining 3 papers i stick to my original self, study wht u feel like n leave the things u r not interested. i guess this works for me n i write well in papers n land up scoring well.
Okies whatever happend is fine. It hardly matters to me now. I just want to finish this thing at any cost. i know tht i am not going to fail so it dosnt matter.

To feel Sunny, use a Shield
While reading bout spirituality in the newspaper and to wht I read, the thing tht came to my mind was tht people keep asking me how do I keep my cool n remain smiling in bad, stressed n tense situations, n the immense amount of peace n content they find on my face… I never had ne answers to their question and the only thing tht I land up answering was – That’s just me…. But I guess this might just answer their question, I hv never put ne efforts on myself but these things hv come naturally to me…
Insulation is critical in life. b4 u touch a hot object u must insulate ur fingers from the heat. Tht’s y dishes hv heat-resistant handles. Similarly, to live life happily, without stress, one needs internal insulation.
Each one of us is a free spirit, a free soul; and most of the times we are unaware of our spirits. That is y knowledge of self is ultimate insulation – know urself. That is when you can maintain an unaffected grace and a harmony that is immune to fluctuations in the world. As William Arthur Ward said, “A cloudy sky is no match for a sunny disposition.” Without insulation you get angry when the world does not meet ur expectations and shocked when calamities strike.
Modern technology makes things more difficult. Earlier the only means of communication was snail mail; now email, chats n webcams prolong the misery. You become a torn entity with the body in one place and the mind in another. The intellect is swamped with so much information that it gets confused and bewildered. For every decision, there are so many options to choose from that the intellect breaks down (I swear to god.. sometimes I think I’d better not had choices)
Only a spiritual person who has reinforced the inner personality and has insulated himself from the onslaught of the world can enjoy technological gizmos. Spirituality definitely comes as a great rescue and it makes u feel serene. Give it a try, a few mins in temple sitting n doing nothing, I mean nothing, u’ll enjoy the peace and feel life isn’t tht bad after all. A Nintendo game can only be enjoyed by an adult; the child agonizes over winning or losing. Only a Shoaib Akhtar can enjoy the battling, bowling and fielding skills of players during an India-Australia match. The rest of us are too gripped with the thought: will we win or not.
Believe me the day u accept the life the way it comes to u, u’ll develop this insulation. Once you develop this internal insulation without neither being too much optimistic nor being pessimist but being practical n accept things the way they are, they wont seem to be good, bad or ugly but something tht came with time and will pass away with time. It wud be like a dancer performing on stage. An accomplished dancer presents a picture of grace and charm. The complicated synchrony of song, rhythm and emotion is portrayed effortlessly and she is able to lift her audience to a high.
The world provides you with the musical accompaniment. You are the dancer who has to learn the art of dancing to the beat. Then you become a picture of grace, beauty and charisma. If you’re not tuned in, you can fall out of rhythm with world and lose your balance. The thought of true, pure n free soul within you keeps you in balance. Its lifts you from the world of finitude and takes you to a realm of content, integrity and infinity.
